Sam Tinson
Psychotherapy in Bath

Welcome
Life is rarely easy, and sometimes our problems can become too much to bear alone. Therapy answers our natural, human need to be heard and understood at the deepest level. The experience of feeling truly 'met' by another person can bring a fresh perspective, and help us find the calm and clarity we need for real change and healing to occur.

About Me
My name is Sam, I'm a UKCP registered psychotherapist based in Bath, Somerset. I completed my training in Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapy in spring 2022, and I'm now preparing to submit my MA dissertation.
In 6 years of private practice I have helped people of all ages and backgrounds cope with life challenges such as anxiety, trauma, depression, bereavement, and relationship struggles.

Before training as a therapist I worked as a writer, photographer, and communications director.

About My Practice
My practice is registered with the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I abide by the ethical codes of both institutions.
Sessions are held in a quiet, private space just a short walk from Bath Spa train station. Evening sessions can be arranged, subject to availability.

My Approach
I draw on different therapeutic tools and methodologies to fit the needs of each individual. My intention is to always remain open to whatever comes up in session, rather than be led by a particular process or technique.
I am interested in existential philosophy as a way of considering what it is to be human, creativity as a means of expressing difficult feelings, and mindfulness as a practical tool for living compassionately towards oneself and others.

If you'd like to know more about how I work, please get in touch to arrange a brief phone call or introductory session.
