Sam Tinson
Psychotherapy in Bath

Welcome
Life is rarely easy, and sometimes our struggles can be too much to bear alone. Psychotherapy answers our natural, human need to be heard and understood at a deeper level. The experience of feeling truly met by another person in this way can lead to fresh perspectives, deeper self-knowledge, and meaningful, lasting change.

About Me
I'm Sam, a UKCP-registered psychotherapist based in Bath, UK. I’ve been in private practice since 2018, working with a broad range of clients on issues including anxiety, trauma, depression, bereavement, and relationship difficulties.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked internationally in media and communications, and I now often work with people in leadership or high-responsibility roles. I have a particular interest in how external systems and pressures interact with our inner lives, and the deeper patterns that shape how we cope, relate, and find meaning.

About My Practice
My practice is registered with the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I abide by the ethical codes of both institutions.
Sessions are held in a quiet, private space just a short walk from Bath Spa train station. I work mainly in person, though remote sessions can be arranged in certain circumstances.

My Approach
I draw on different therapeutic tools and methodologies to fit the needs of each individual. My intention is to always remain open to whatever comes up in session, rather than be led by a particular process or technique.
I am interested in existential philosophy as a way of considering what it is to be human, creativity as a means of expressing difficult feelings, and mindfulness as a practical tool for living compassionately towards oneself and others.
If you'd like to know more about how I work, please get in touch to arrange a brief phone call or introductory session.
